The Black Stars insisted the Ghanaian government charter a plane to fly out their $3m appearance fees- in cash.
Deputy Sports Minister Joseph Yamin told Ghanaian radio station Citi FM: "The government had to mobilise the money and a chartered flight to Brazil."
A rather po-faced statement from the Ghana FA explained: "The government is pre-financing the payment of the Black Stars appearance fees, which will be reimbursed when FIFA's prize money for Ghana's participation in the World Cup is paid." What do you make of this?
It was a rather unfortunate circumstance cos I suported dem all d way! I also suport d flying of d money on plane to brazil! Jux sad they lost! Will miss them in d worldccup cos they are more fantastic than superchickens in dis worldcup campaign!
