Cucumbers are the fourth most cultivated vegetable in the world and known to be one of the best food for your body's overall health.

Cucumbers especially its peel, is rich in vitamins your body needs everyday - Vitamins A, B and C, which strengthens the immune system. Cucumbers reduce the level of urinary acids in the body and also keep kidneys healthy.

The water in cucumber has good effect on the internal organs, by cleaning them from all toxins. There is evidence that it can even break kidney stones.

Cucumbers are 90% water, keeping the body hydrated, while helping the body eliminate toxins. Cucumbers have most of the vitamins the body needs in a single day. If you often forget things and do not drink enough water during the day, eat a cold cucumber.

To avoid a morning hangover or headaches, eat a few cucumber slice before going to bed.

Daily consumption of cucumbers can be regarded as a remedy for chronic constipation.

If you don't like to eat the skin, it can be used for skin irritations and sunburns as aloe would be used. Place a slice over puffy eyes and it's anti-inflammatory properties help reduce puffiness.

Cucumber juice contains a hormone which is needed by the cells of the pancreas for producing insulin which has been found to be beneficial to diabetic patient. Researchers found that a compound called sterols in cucumbers may help reduce cholesterol level.

Cucumbers contain a lot of potassium, magnesium and fiber. These work effectively for regulating blood pressure. This makes cucumber very good for treating both low and high blood pressure.

Cucumber is an excellent source of silica which is known to help promote joint health by strengthening the connective tissues. They are also rich in vitamin A, B1 ,B6, C and D, Folate, Calcium, Magnesium,  Potassium. When mixed with carrot juice they can relieve gout and arthritis pain by lowering the uric acid levels.

Cucumber relieves bad mouth breathe: take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with tongue for 30 seconds, the phytochemicals will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for bad breath.

Though cucumbers give me this repugnant taste, I have gotten used to the taste. With these facts, I guess you and I now know how important cucumbers are.
